Outfit Shots from San Francisco Travel Diary

I've been told that the weather in San Francisco is anything but commendable, windy, chilly, and very uncalifornia like. I have to say SF really outdid itself the extended weekend we visited because we experienced none of that. Pure sunshine and warm breezy weather for us :-)

I'm doing a seperate post just for outfits cause I had a lot of fun packing for this trip! As usual you'll see a lot of color and recently I've been lusting over prints. So lots of those!

I love this moment!

Lemon on My Mind

Sadly all things sunny are starting to fade with the end of the summer, I have been obsessed with all things flavored lemon! Lemon bars, lemon ices, lemon fashion :-), lemon scents! It's a fresh twist especially for desserts that makes tasty treats not unbearably sweet! This obsession is definitely reminiscent of my temporary love with grapefruit . . .

Love love Lily!!

And lastly my take on the lemon color and flavor

Color, Color, Color

Homemade Lemon Bars mmmmm

Recipe for Lemon Bars
adapted from Rita May's Blog

3/4 C flour
3/4 C sugar
1/4 t salt
1 stick butter, soft
2 eggs
juice from 1/2 lemon (about 1T)
zest from 1/2 lemon (about 1t)

Combine the flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl and mix in the softened butter. In another bowl whisk the eggs with the lemon juice and zest. Add the lemon zest and eggs to the larger bowl and mix well. Pour into prepared 8X8 brownie pan. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. You can double the recipe and bake in a 9X13 pan for 30 minutes. Remove and let cool, then glaze.

Glaze
1/2C powdered sugar
1 T lemon juice
additional lemon zest
